Basic safety and survival training - STCW
The aim of the course is to meet the requirements for safety education for seafarers in accordance with the provisions of the law and regulations. The structure and content of the course considers and satisfies the conditions set in section A-VI/1 and tables A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2, A-VI/1-3 and A-VI /1-4 of the STCW Code3, European Directive4 and Regulation5.
Arrangement
The course lasts five days and is taught on board the school ship Sæbjörg as well as at a fire training area. During the course, the student receives education and training in first aid, fire prevention, occupational safety and sea rescue.
